  • Extra Large Mesh Panel- The extra large mesh panel over your head and torso provides excellent ventilation.

Long #3 YKK Zipper- Long inverted U zipper running from waist level to above head, allows easy entry and exit.

Waterproof ROBIC® Nylon Silicone/UTS Coated Floor- ROBIC® high tenacity yarn and UTS coating provide extra tear strength, abrasion resistance, and it is less slick than a traditional silicone coating.

Bathtub Style Floor- Reduced seams in the floor for increased weather resistance.

Elastic Hang Loops- Tie loops at the head and foot to keep the bivy fabric off your face and quilt.

Generous Dimensions- Allows room inside for gear storage. Both regular and wide versions fit 25" wide sleeping pads.

Stake Loops at the Corners- Ribbon loops at the corners facilitate drying or allow staking.

Stuff Sack Included- Included stuff sack for storage. Adds 0.25 ounces.

Bivy

By far the best investment in my kit that I’ve made. Love this thing. It’s super light and roomy. Won’t leave home without it.

Great bikepacking Bivy bag

I recently purchased the Pinon Ivy bag for bike packing. I’ve used a few times now and found it to be a great part of a light weight sleep system. I’ve used it in the mountains and down on the flats in both mild and hot temperatures and it’s preformed wonderfully each time. A recent trip along a mosquito infested river kept me bite free and comfortable all night. The only time I’ve found the bag slightly uncomfortable was on a very hot night, with extremely high humidity and no breeze, I don’t expect any solution would work ‘well’ in those circumstances. The bag is hard wearing and light, easy to pack, takes up no room and keeps you comfortable.

Exactly what I needed.

Just had a chance to take this out on an extended backpacking trip in WV, MD, and PA during a hot and humid week. I used the bivy in two ways; set up with a ridgeline and set up in a shelter with the face netting rigged to stay off the face. During the whole week I had no problems with condensation on the inside even though the humidity levels were high. My pad slid around on a quick overnight I took previously, so I purchased a piece of EVA foam (1x2) to place under it and that definitely helped. I purchased the 6' wide size and that allowed plenty of room along the sides and at 5' 10", about 10" or so of room at the head for anything I wanted to keep inside. It didn't rain during my trip, so I didn't get the chance to test the splash protection. I received plenty of questions at different spots, most being jealous of the weight savings over a tent after I told them what the bivy weighs. It was also consoling to know no creepy crawlies were getting in while sleeping on the ground or in the shelters. I saw some large wolf spiders that I certainly didn't want crawling on my face. The extra large mesh was nice when the humidity and temperature were high. It let some air flow through. That and not having to worry about insects allowed me to sleep shirtless and stay relatively comfortable. All in all, the Pinon Bivy is the perfect shelter for my needs; light, protective, comfortable, and quick and easy to set up. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and it seems it's well built and will last the test of time.

Great product

Excellent light weight option. I ordered a longer Bivy than I need so I can stand my pack up in the extra head room to create enough height to keep the mesh off my face without staking up trekking poles. Wake up and roll up Bivy, pad and bag together and be moving in just a couple minutes.
