Great piece of gear. I had owned a Flex 22 Quilt for the first time 2021. Notice they also make down jacket. I'm 178cm 90kg, size "L" fit me well with space to have a base layer. The jacket is super light and keep me warm even at 1-5 celsius. The only downsize is international shipping stop me buying more when every new product launchs.
I wear a large in ever brand, minus Lululemon and now Katabatic. I returned the large due to being small in the armpits and tight around the hips. I’m 6 foot at 190 pounds. The extra large fits me well. Other than sizing, one recommendation for the next version is to install wind blocking material behind the zipper.
Loved my Tincup and so I got a Tarn for warmer weather and it did not disappoint.
Wore this hiking the Wind River High Route and it kept me warm in wind, rain (under my shell), and snow. comfortable enough to sleep in and/or to wear all day. The elastic cuffs are excellent, they don't chafe, and the hood stays on when the jacket is zipped all the way up. No drop pockets is my only gripe.
I'm 5'10", 190 lb and the large fits me well. The medium was too small.
I bought the Tarn after comparing it to the FF Eos. I thought the hood fit and adjustment looked better on the Tarn which was important to me. I wished the Tarn had an interior or exterior chest pocket like the Eos, but ultimately that was not a deal breaker for me. The specs and price on the Tarn are great! I am 6'2" 44" chest 36" waist and 205lb. Usually an XL fits me fine. I liked everything about the look and feel of the Tarn when it arrived, but in the end it was just too snug for me. The sleeves were long enough and the length was fine and the hood was well designed as I expected, but through the chest and mid-section it was too tight for me to comfortably layer anything more than a t-shirt. I need to wear at least a lightweigh baselayer and R-1 type midweight fleece and that was not possible without the jacket being too tight for comfort. I expect someone 10 or more lbs. lighter than me might find it just right, but I reluctantly returned it. I will try this coat again if it is made roomier and if it gets a chest pocket it would be perfect for my needs.
Very lightweight and warm jacket. Strongly recommended, very happy with this purchase.
Trim fit: Designed for use over a light baselayer or midlayer. If you are near the cusp on sizes and would like to be able to use it over a warmer/bulkier layer, or prefer a roomier fit, you’ll want to size up.
