Down overfill is offered as an option on our sleeping bags. We have worked to optimize the fill amount in our sleeping bags, however some people desire a more densely stuffed sleeping bag.
Overfill packs the down more tightly in the sleeping bag. It can reduce the possibility of cold spots created if the down shifts as you move inside the bag. In addition overfill can increase the warmth of the sleeping bag. However, since the baffle height stays the same in an overfilled bag, the amount of warmth gained is limited to 5-10°F.
If you would like overfill in your sleeping bag, please use the option above at the time you order the bag. Overfilled bags may require an additional 7-14 days to complete. Please note that overfilled bags are considered custom, and are non-returnable.

Overfill is a very useful option for customizing your system to your exact needs. I purchased a Flex 30 quilt and chose to add one ounce of overfill to it. In theory this made it a 27 degree quilt. Since I try to make the most of the hiking season, the few extra degrees of comfort afforded by the overfill buys me an extra 3 weeks. It has allowed me to hike all the way into the first week of December. I expect to be back on the trail by mid March. This added additional flexibility to an already fantastically functional sleep system. I couldn’t be happier with my decision.
